Hi all,

New here - I have one rat - named Lucy.
She is a joy and spends most of her day on my shoulder or running around my couch or bed. Except she is sick right now and just staying on my shoulder. Vet thinks she has S.A.D. The sun is out today so her cage is right in a beam and she is basking.

Your Lucy might get out of her funk with a buddy. Rats will become lonely and sad when they don't have another same sex rat buddy to cuddle with.

tried that with my sister's rat - all they did was fight.

I'm gonna take her to another vet - one that knows rats better cuz I think she might be ill.

Did you do proper intros? You need to introduce them gradually to new rats in a neutral environment like a bathtub or a couch or something.
There's lots of threads on here with how to do intros. She's be much happier with a friend for sure.

Yay adopt a friend!!! It will make her much happyer!! But go slow with intros it takes time for rats to bond.
