I'm posting this for some friends who's female rat has recently started having green mucous come from her nose. They call it 'booger' if that helps at all!

This is a pet shop rat who has had a litter 2.5 months ago and gets the sneezes/occassional quiet rattling sound.

Could this be something serious?

Has anyone had any experience with green mucous?

It probably seems obvious but i havent encountered it yet..

Iv never heard of a rat with green mucus :? a wet nose and red porphy nose is all ive ever seen or heard off. Could it be an infection somewhere?

The green discharge combined with this statement "sneezes/occassional quiet rattling sound" indicates to me this rat has a respiratory infection. She needs to be put on antibiotics immediately.

my first rat Templeton had a mucous type thing come out of her nose and it was because she had extreme respitory isssues. I would tell your friend to get her rattie to a vet and get her on some meds.
