Aslan died peacefully in my arms this morning at 7:40am from an apparent myco flare up. He suffered through for less than a day.
Aslan and Miraz were my first rats in a long time. I got them about 2 yrs and 4 months ago. They were the cutest little siamese. They've been with me for the toughest times in my life recently. There were a few times where I thought we had to part, but luckily, it always worked out. I had a feeling from the very beginning Aslan would leave first. This was the hardest thing for me in a very long time. I haven't lost any close pets or even family member since I was very young. Miraz is very sad. He knows Aslan is going and he is turning for the same, it looks. I dont' blame him, Aslan was his brother, his friend and the only one who was there for him of his own kind for most of his life.
Let's put some of that behind, a remember the good times.

:cuddle: Losing one of the special ones is especially hard (okay they're all special but we bond more to some!) but I know you'll get through this and I'm thrilled you have such cute photos to remember him by.
