Gumdrop will not be getting her tumors removed. They have become very extensive and at this point my specialist won't operate. He offered to remove some of the smaller ones, to offer her some comfort, but she barely acts like she notices any of them, so I don't think the rewards outweigh the risk. He doesn't think we have a lot of time, and I don't want to put her through a surgery that won't do much, in that case.

Phil has an appointment soon for his long-awaited neuter. He desperately needs to be getting in with the girls in a couple months, since his cage mate passed away. Dr. Hertzog offered to do it for $80. Next week, he will be on his way to having friends again.

Great new for Phil, that is terrific! Not so great news for Gumdrop, I am so sorry. But I agree, your vet is right and you are right for deciding to just let her enjoy her time without the stress and risk of surgery. As someone else already said, sometimes surgery is not the answer. I went through that same thing with one of my boys in the past so, I know how that feels. Send Gumdrop my love and Phil as well. Keep us posted?
