The girls are being very shy in there new home with the boys. Should I be concerned that they are hiding in their bed (Sweetpea especially) and are easily spooked. The boys have gone into there bed an then come out and no squeaks from anyone when this happens. I am keeping an eye on them all but the boys seem to be acting as they norm do. Any feed back on what or what not to do at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

Some rats need to adjust to new surroundings, it's normal. Also many rats go through a "scared phase" at about 3 to 5 months old but lots of socializing will get them out of that easily.

Nope not at all, rats are odd little things. The girls are spayed so they dont have the excitement mode on the boys. Choxi and Pixie, stayed in the hammock and pixie avoided Sebastian like he was a bad habit. They also refused to allow him in their hammock, when he would try, she would squeak like a car alarm going off. It is an adjustment for them all. They will have to establish who is alpha and so on.

Just give them lovin' and some out time. It should all fall into place with in 2 weeks or so. Some rats are horrible with change.

Thanks guys for all your advice! The kids are taking turns being awake lol, The boys are sleeping now and the girls are running around. They are doing well even with the dif sleep patterns as the boys do not bother much with the girls when they are awake and vise versa with the girls. Thank you so much :cloud9:
