George crossed over the bridge just an hour ago
George a 20 month old Fawn Hooded sweetheart crossed quietly
It was only 3 days after we had lost our Henry so feels like a disaster
He was not his usual self on Tuesday he was very quiet and lethargic
it was more notaceable yesterday so we got him into the Vets.
She said he was probably suffering kidney failure as his tummy was wet
but he felt slightly dehydrated. We had given him hydration fluids earlier
as i was concerned about his drinking as he was so lethargic.
The Vet gave him a steroid injection and we were told to just keep him
comfortable. Unfortunatly his condition just got worse He would hardly
move at all...eventually he crossed over the bridge.
George was a sweet sociable boy who was no trouble to find after playtime
as he would come running to his name, he would always spend some time
with us getting cuddles and grooming our nails...but his most unusual habit was
the way he would sleep in his hammock sat up curled nose to tail upright.
he was so protective over his hammock and would protest at sharing it.
Losing 1 boy in a week feels hard but 2 in 3 days is heartbreaking
Our tears may fall but they will dry...Our memories and love will last
for all eternity. This is the gift our Ratties give us, the gift of unconditional love
See you at the bridge sweetheart
Never a goodbye just a pause untill we see you again at the bridge
