Do any of you guys have a problem with fruit flies? I thought we had them beat this year, but darn it we have them again!! They seem to hang out around the cages mostly and its so aggravating. We've set up the traps again, but if you guys get them too what do you do for them? We clean the cages regularly, empty the liter boxes.

Here's a thread in 2007... we all have issues with fruit flies. lol

Thanks, the pest control guy at work says they can lay eggs on your garbage can lid, they are attracted to the gunk that is sometimes around the kitchen sink, rat poop, plants, they can come in on vegetables grown in the garden and no matter how much you scrub you cannot get the eggs off you also probably won't see them. Basically they are attracted to anything that rots, not just fruit. He suggested keeping all fruit in the refrigerator.
