Thursday night, I am welcoming a new rattie!
His name was formerly Duke and was given up by someone in Moncton. Xio picked him up and asked me if I'd be interested in adopting him.

According to the ad, his cage was cleaned once a month.
I think that first picture of him in the ad really says it all... (small cage that can barely fit one rat,pine shavings, disgustingly dirty cage) :sad3:

While Xio had him, he had worrying nose bleeds.. but is now doing great and has seen the vet. :thumbup: (viewtopic.php?f=21&t=27434)

Right now, he is with my mom in Fredericton, who is keeping him for me until I can finally have him Thursday night when she comes to visit!
I CAN'T wait to meet him!

I will be posting new pictures of him on Friday! I'll let him settle to his new surroundings Thursday night. I bet it will be odd for him to smell other rats in the house.

I can't wait to start introing him to my rats after quarantine... just to show you guys how much he looks like my Smokey!

Thanks! I'm glad to be taking him in!

And SQ, my mom told me she found him hiding under it in the morning, so I guess he does.
And the bedding is Living World Fresh and Comfy..
It works pretty good but I only use it for the litter box here.

My mom says he's very lovely! She says he LOVES to cuddle and adores getting rubbed behind the ears.. haha.
Now let's just hope that he likes me as much as he likes her. :mouse2ud2:

We were rubbing and petting him to sleep for a good 10 minutes.

I also had a question: He has been seen by the vet and he said that he is perfectly healthy, but gave him a low dose of antibiotics to maybe get rid of whatever would have caused his nose bleeds.

Is it still necessary to quarantine for a whole two weeks?
Is he not contagious when he's on antibiotics anyway?
And mine are on Baytril and will be done on the 15th.
