Cute photos (Kangaroo Rats)

My night was hard. I went to work at 9PM, had a 1 hour "nap" between 3AM and 4AM, and didn't finish the job until 10AM. That's a good 13 hour shift right there. This is what I was doing (see photos). We are trapping for Aguanga Kangaroo Rats. All animals trapped are identified, measured, weighed, sexed, marked (with non-toxic marker), then released unharmed. Basically this is being done for inventory purposes. Last night was the first night of trapping, and success! We found Aguanga Kangaroo Rats!

And we also got this little guy. He's a nasty blood thirsty beast, don't let his cute appearance fool you.
