Its not often that my local rescue, North Star, actively solicits donations. However, they've recently took in a chinchilla that needs extra special (and expensive) dental surgery - poor George has some other underlying health problems that's going to make surgery tricky. The rescue is almost halfway to its goal in raising the funds needed - every little bit counts.
Next to rabbits, chinchillas have it the hardest at our rescue. The abandon rate is high, and the adoption rate is extremely low. Very few folks are willing to commit 15+ years for these little guys. Georgie-boy needs all the help he can get.
Please spread the word. George's story and donation page is here: http://nsr.chipin.com/george-the-chinchillas-dental-surgery
