Callie & Katie (the new girls!), Kent & Parker & The Baby!

I was going to add to my other thread, but I figured I'd make a new one with the new girls names in the title! I got Callie & Katie today, I am just infatuated with Callie, she gives kisses on the lips and is the sweetest girl ever. Callie is 18 months old & Katie is four months! I got them as a friend for my little merle girl! Callie is great with the baby, but I am not so sure about Katie, Katie is nippy, so I am a little scared to introduce her to the baby! Anyways, here are some photos, they wouldn't stop moving! Haha!

Very sweet! How old is the baby? I'd start intros when she's about 8 weeks old. You won't know if Katie is nippy with the baby until you intro them together.
Is that aspen bedding in their cage?

The thing is, the pet store didn't tell me how old the new baby is, how old does everyone think she looks?

They are so adorable.
That's a lot of new rats in just a few days! I'd go crazy!

As for the bedding, pine or cedar shavings are bad for rats, so if you plan on keeping them on wood chips, you should definitely switch them to aspen as it is safe for them, or even better, switch them to recycled newspaper bedding, like Yesterday's News or Living World Fresh N Comfy bedding. It's much comfier on their little feet, too!

Another thing you could do is litter train them. My rats are all litter trained. They have fleece liners on their shelves and on the bottom of the cage, and then they have a litter box with those recycled newspaper pellets.
They soon understand that they need to do their business in the litter box if you keep putting their poopies in the litter box!
Plus you get to show off to all your friends that you litter trained rats! lol
