what could have caused this? mites?? he does scratch himself occasionally, and his nails are sharp... but his cagemate doesn't have anything like this. I don't see blood elsewhere, just under his chin/around his cheek! I didn't even see it until I scritched him under the chin, and felt bumps.

anyone know what it could be? I'm pretty sure he's the dominant one in his cage, so I doubt noodle is power-grooming him to this extent. I have milky's (newly still un-intro'd rat) cage set apart from their cage, the only way milky would be able to scratch/bite him is if both of them stick their head out as far as possible. and even then it seems unlikely, but just giving you background info.

A good idea to go out and give EVERYONE revolution from the vet and do a good clean of all cages and freeze your bedding for two days ASAP. Ordering the Revolution is wonderful for a "to have on hand" situation.
