Black tooth

Bart was sleeping the other day with his mouth open, and I noticed a black mark on his tooth. I snuck in and took a picture

I understand they don't typically get 'cavities', but I've never seen a black mark on a tooth like this before. Any input anyone has would be appreciated.

Weird. I've never seen that either.

I have...usually near the gumline on the lower incisors. Older rats. Never affected them.
