ok, so I feel like I am missing something and it's probably right in my face. more than likely I'll post this and then see a post about it. :giggle: :giggle: I blame swooning over my new man rat!

where is your favorite (online) place to buy toys? everything from hidey huts like the sputnik to bird toys?

I'm going bananas looking for toys since I have a new group. going to try out stuff my previous group couldn't use. (one group couldn't have paper or wood because a boy would snack on it. the other couldn't have wood because a girl injured her teeth and it made it worse...I loved those rats lol. they amused me to no end.)

I think it might be Canada only, but they have an email address, so I'll shoot them an email to check ~

you can get toys at Petsmart, Petco, and Drs Foster and Smith (just google those names for web addresses)

I just ordered a few things from this place, they make the toys when you order so you need to wait a bit to get them, I"ll let you know when they arrive if they were worth waiting for :cheeky:

never shopped here but looks like this place has some interesting things:

also check out the websites for different rat rescues like Mainely Rat Rescue, they have their own little shop where they sell rat toys and wheels and hammocks and such, and several other rescues do the same

amazon.com and walmart.com have some toys

and you can always check out bird toys for some great hanging toys and those rope perches like this (check around, prices vary a lot on these)

another great place to get rat toys is a dollar store or similar store- they have plastic bins and baskets and all sorts of things that can be used for huts/hides etc

some of that craft foam makes a great chew toy, and cat feathers or boas are good too

my guys love cardboard boxes with holes cut in them the best. of course

oh and this place sells some neat stuff, I bought from them thru ebay but it looks like their prices on this site are better:

you can buy just the parts you want and make your own hanging toys and the leather is vegetable tanned (my rats LOVE leather!) so safe for rats

thank you guys! :D

Drs Foster and Smith is usually my go to (must buy a new Octoplay. no rat group of mine is complete without it).

I'm going to shop around on those sites tonight ~

my girls are home in one cage and my boy in another (in a separate room too. until either the girls are spayed and he's neutered. not taking any chances with babies  ) and it's time to decorate those cages until the rats have too many toys to know what to do with them all!
