My boyfriend is a genius! But... don't tell him that.

As usual I was struggling putting grommets into a couple hammocks that I was sewing this afternoon. And as usual, he was laughing at me. I gave up and gave him the hammer and said "your the man you should be using this hammer" and walked away.

I come back and he is using a different method... MUCH easier:

First, find clamp

Second, put grommet tool, grommet in hammock and bottom part of grommet tool into the clamp

Third, turn one half turn (may be more or less depending on the clamp)

Fourth, done!

Makes the hardest part of sewing hammocks pretty easy!

I love it, its like a makeshift grommet press, but much cheaper I'm sure :) For those that are struggling and don't have a press, a rubber mallet makes all the difference over a normal hammer. Not sure why but I have a way easier time since I switched and its what the grommet setter companies recommend.

I got my little handheld grommet setter last Black Friday over the internet sale on joann.com for like $7...it's a life (and HAND..and nerve hehe) saver for me. Your sweetie appears to be a genius :D Great use of tools!
