Hey

Went to the pet shop, i know, a chain store pet shop :? to get some new carefresh bedding! Ended up getting a fluffy tunnel, cardboard chube, coconut n rope chew toy, Pink hearts rat nutri block chew toy, and 2 x The Organic rat seed n honey sticks :D

Oh... and a barely even 6 week old agouti hooded rex!!! Eeeeeeeee. A litter had come in and she had been the only girl.... 4 other boys in one tank and just her in another... naturally she came home with me! :D

Both cages have had a revamp and Jiggy is now in the babies cage with new toys, and Pi n Flute, now 16 weeks already, are in Jig's bigg mansion, cleaned and redecorated with my new baby....

They have introd immediately but I am gritting my teeth as I havent quarantined Newby.... I know it's bad... but I'm on holiday in a week, and i know dad would rather only have 2 cages... plus the 3rd cage is MINI!! and i really want her to be happy and social with Pi n Flute, as they won't get quite as much attention from dad.... Although they do get a lot! He's rather partial to taking them on "skyhigh adventures" (as he calls them) around the house on his shoulders... and just last week I walked in the bathroom, to see Jiggy in the bath with him!! Just sat on his chest chewing the loofah!!

So anyway.... things will proabbly be fine... but I'm a touch nervous missing out on the quarantine, although she has been in a cage on her own in the pet shop for a week maybe. Poor girlie... but despite this, she's a funnyun!!!

Already she is shooting round the big cage and pinging faster than I've ever seen a rat move! EVER She literally launches right across the cage and lands on flute with a squeak and a power groom and shoots of elsewhere! And she's very vocal about it all!!

She is loving playing with Flute, as she is currently in heat... It's so damn funny! She touches Flute, who vibrates madly, leaps in the air and arches her back, which prompts newgirl to ping and she jumps on Flute's back, with all 4 paws on her back and grooms the back of her head!!!

She's a bit wary of Pi though, as Pi is the dominant one and only thinks about escaping, and when a tiny rexxy 'gouti fuzzbomb pings in her face and interupts her plotting she will promptly shove her out of the way. There have been 2 tense standing up moments between baby and Pi, but no even the slightest of nipping, just a brief quick establishment of heirarchy.... Sorted.

She is very very small, and her rexxy fur is as soft as anything, and she is so painfully pretty!

As a final note, before I called in to the pet shop on my way from work, I picked up a best friend home from uni so we could go for a meal... So she was there when I got newgirl, now she's very afraid of most animals is my Emily, so she wasn't too keen initially, but admitted newwie was cute..... Therefore Newwie has been named in honour my best friend, who has stuck by me through the worst of my times, in honour of emily's nickname, Pot Noodle...

Ladies and gents, I give you Noodle!

(and now I appologise as i havent uploaded pics yet!! They will be coming very soon!) :D

Pics!! As requested.... not very good I'm afraid though... I so very desperstely need a new camera... the one I'm using is over 4 years old :?

Anyway, they were all in te same cage last night, I got Noodle about 6 o clock last night, and they were straight in together after an intro on the couch... incredible!!

I woke up this morning to find them all piled in the hammock, but they all pinged awake when i tried to take a pic, Noodle has settled in incredibly, and continues to move faster than I've ever seen a rat move before...

Also, when she drinks, she grasps the water bottle and pads it with her paws like it was mum's nipple still, I hope she doesn't grow out of this cus it's so sweet!!

Anyway, to the pics!

I've also got 2 vids of them all together, but the computer has been stripped to speed it up, and I haven't got round to installing a video player yet.

Also, for a quick update on Jiggs the Bad... She was sleeping soundly in the smaller cage when I took these pictures, and sadly it looks like that's where she'll stay. She's not meeting Noodle yet, but I keep trying to get her to socialise with Pi and Flute to no avail. Even on completely neutral territory she continues so pouf up, foof, and bite... hard! So I'm just her best friend now, she rarely bites me, and it's never to hard, but she's stil the nippiest we've had.. And she's regularly watching films with us on the couch, wandering the lounge, and providing endless entertainment!!

Absolute darling!
I think your best bet with Jiggs is to keep trying, not continually but once a month or so. I find some rats will hate each other and the next month, they are ready to be friends.

Yeh, they get to see each every now and again, but I don't mind it so much, as Jiggs seems more than happy one her own.. well she hangs around with me more than she is in the cage.... but I don't think they'll ever be in the same cage, it'd just be nice for them to be social, but Jiggs has never been with other rats, the owners who abandoned her had her on her own, and she was alone in the shelter too.... Poor baby, but it's good that she gets along with humans so much... apart from mum, she bites mum a bit!

Those pics of Noodle really don't do her justice... she looks bigger in the pics, but she's so tiny really... I'll keep posting when i get cute pics as my little darling begins to grow up = )

:D Oh my she is a tiny living doll, love the color & oh the curls, I couldn't have left without her either, your other ratties are real beaytties too, they are lucky to have such a good Mommy!
