After the operation

I just picked up Tribble from the vet after her E-Spay...Everything went well and she's at home now....

But now there's some questions - I don't like asking the vet techs as I'm not sure if they know much about rats and Eric was busy...

1) The stitches will fall out on their own - should I have her separated from her cagemates till they fall out and how long will they take to fall out?

I guess that's all I have...

As soon as your girl is eating and drinking well and doesn't seem in pain I would put her back in and keep an eye on her. How many in her cage? Watch that no other rats bother her incision. It takes a while for the stitches to dissolve. They are usually happy to be back with their buddies. Glad your sweetie is back home.

If the stiches are still there in 10 days, I get the vet to remove them ... and at the same time get her a follow up check up to make sure everything is fine.

She's back with her two cagemates and I have to keep reminding myself that she just had an operation - she's all over the place and back to normal!
