We have a ferret cage for our boys that isn't technically Kaytee brand (I don't think), but from what I can tell, the bridges and platforms are exactly the same. We have this cage: http://www.petmountain.com/show_product/11442-509553 It's a great size and has lots of room for them, but it doesn't have quite as many platforms and bridges as this cage from Kaytee (http://www.kaytee.com/products/kaytee-ferret-home.php) and it seems a bit difficult for them to get from platform to platform sometimes because of the distance and lack of bridges.

I was wondering if there are add-ons available anywhere for this cage - somewhere I can buy just the bridges/platforms from the Kaytee cage? Or maybe just suggestions on how to make my own?

I have two of those cages (the purple and green one). My guys get around just fine, but I added different ramps and lots of hammocks.

You CAN get replacement parts for the purple/green SP cage, but I've heard they are pricey. http://www.superpetusa.com/product-list ... -stand.htm You would be better off making your own ledges if that's what you want. You can use plastic dish drying trays (or any hard, flat plastic). Just drill or jam scissors through to make holes, and zip tie/cable tie to the bars. You can also use the cutting boards (not wood/bamboo type) if you have a drill. For ramps, I use Critter Nation/Ferret Nation ramps. They are amazing for helping them get to each level. Honestly, the ramps that come with that Super Pet cage are terrible. Mine aren't used at all. You can find those ramps all over the place. http://www.ferret.com/item/ramp-covers- ... on/650388/ You can also use wooden bird ladders, I use these as well. Then I just fill up the rest of the space with hammocks that they climb on. Here is a picture. It's a bit hard to see. Sorry the cages are disgusting, I didn't clean before I took the picture and they weren't cleaned for a few days.

Superpet has very horrible plastic levels - The pee get flooded in their "drain-like" thing around it.

I had a Superpet cage and I was so peeved with washing it.

Do you think you can get wire mesh and DIY your own levels, perhaps? Covering it up with ceramic tiles/ fleece and they will be safe enough for your rats.

1095732, that looks fantastic! That's the exact cage we have and that looks exactly how I'd like it to. :) Your suggestions are great and I will definitely look into all of them. Thank you both!
