Dumbo or Standard ears on baby rats:

Here you will see the difference in a dumbo eares baby and a standard ear baby at the age of 7 days. It is near impossible to tell what ear types the babies will have untill their ears open, which can be around 6 or 7 days old.

The baby on the top has dumbo ears. You can see how they are very rounded and are set low on the sides of the head and point very slightly downward. The baby on the bottom has standard or top ears as they are also known. Standard ears have a very slight rounded point to the tip and point upwards and are much smaller in size and sit higher on the head. Again if you have a litter of rats and can't tell if they have standard or dumbo ears just give us a call or email us and we will help you out as best we can.

Your videos are too dark and unclear to be able to determine ears that's for sure. Your light coloured babies are beige also. I think Gringo is a dumbo...

We NEED stills :)
