My newly acquired girl came to me preggers. 10 babies. I'm keeping 3-5 (current debate with husband)
So they're are 5 boys who need forever homes and 1-3 girls who need homes. All are dumbo. I handle them all multiple times a day and with supervision my children handle them daily. Everyone seems healthy and happy.
Included some pics, not of everyone yet

Awwwww …. sweet babies :)

Just in case you are unaware, baby boys are separated from mom and sisters at 5 weeks.
Baby girls stay with mom until at least 6 weeks and never need to be separated.
Babies should not go to new homes until at least 6 weeks old.

Please make sure babies are only rehomed in same sex pairs or same sex groups
Babies need to live with at least one other baby, and babies need to go with at least one same sex sibling no matter how many rats may live in their new home
Please see ideas re rehoming https://www.ratshackforum.com/threads/rehoming-a-rat-or-accidental-litter-things-to-consider.22990/

Babies can not be introed to rats over 12 weeks old until that are at least 8 weeks old (10 weeks is safer) …… and there are established, gradual methods for introing rats (the carrier method is not one of them)
See https://www.ratshackforum.com/threa...ps-used-when-putting-new-rats-together.32368/ joinrats.com also has a lot of good info

Oh yes I do know and I intend to be very careful rehoming them... if I ever find anyone actually interested.

I got a couple more cute pics today

Awww man, I wish you were closer too! Lol.
It's decided I'm keeping 2 boys and 2 girls (seperate enclosures until I get the boys fixed)
I tried to get more pics today... They're fast and difficult to do with phone camera. I gotta bust out the good camera tomorrow.

So cute! I wish I was closer. Can't find anywhere to get a female near me

Have you checked shelters, rat rescues, social media such as craigs list and kijiji for people rehoming rats, Rats Rule on the site goosemoose.com ?
If you can not find one or two girls, what about getting her spayed (important for health reasons, if she is old/large enough and you have a vet that can do it safely), and getting a couple of boys (and having them neutered if she is too young to be spayed - then 3 weeks after a neuter they can be introed to her)

The rat rescues near me only have rabbits and guineas right now or have shut down. I have 1 breeder and she has some babies but they won't be ready for about 2 weeks. If it comes down to it I'll more than likely end up getting a boy and getting him fixed.
