water fun?

A friend of mine has rats who LOVE to play in the bathtub! I've been thinking of trying it out with my guys. Letting them paddle around in the tub with a big sitting-spot in the middle. They seemed to quite enjoy it when I was giving them a bath, before I started actually bathing them, so I wonder if it'd be fun.

Would you guys advise this? I know I'd have to make sure they're fully dry so they don't catch a chill, but are there any possible downsides to letting them play in water?

I don't think there are any downside. If it doesn't stress the rats out, it's really good exercise.

My rats get extremely stressed by the bathtub, especially if it has water in it ...

I use a tupperware tub for a little swimming pool. Rats go in and out as they please. I add sunflower seeds or peas to the water.

Be sure not to get water in their ears and nose. Causes extreme pain for them. But my rats hate water they lift their legs like they are going to die if they step in it lol

I may try it, but I'm not sure if it'd be something they'd like. Maybe if food's involved...

Lucille used to sit in the water dish when she was little.. butt, tail and all. I wonder what she'd think of her own little wading pool now.
