My mums friend has just came over, and hes asking me for advice. He has two female rats that are about a year old, and were from the same litter. They have been housed together their whole lives, but one has recently been bullying the other. I asked if there was blood being drawn and he said the one being bullied is covered in scars and scabs - which he is very concerned about.

Anybody got any advice?

I'm not very experienced with rat fights. I'm still a youngster in rats ^^'' I didint' had any fighting problems with my rats until yesterday night. So I dunno, I would try seperating them for a while and maybe try to do the steps of introducting new rats.

Sounds to me like they have a nasty case of mites. They should be treated and I bet all will go back to normal after their full treatments. Some bullying and scuffling is normal. But covered in scabs, it's time to do a mite treatment.
