Toe Swelling

Hi all!

So my baby boy Velveeta has this swollen toe. My partner was watching the rats over the week and noticed slight, unremarkable redness on Thursday. On Saturday, his toe looked like this. It looks slightly less red today but still just as swollen. I'm thinking it's a broken toe, but I'd love to hear thoughts. The plan is to call the vet tomorrow morning, but I also know nothing can really be done for broken toes except for pain meds and rest.

Ouch! I'd say that's a break for sure, pain meds will be key, a medical cage with a cage mate could be good but it might also entice them to climb and do more harm than good.

It also looks like a nail could have been ripped off, also not much to do since it's such a small area but keep a close eye for signs of infection.
