Yesterday Mike and I were invited to go sailing with my grandparents. Now they dock about 30 min away from where we live but never visit. They don't like Mike so this is a huge deal.
I just wanted to share some of the pictures. Sailing is so peaceful, uses barely any gas. Grandpa said he filled up his tank 2 years ago with 29L of gas and had to drain most of it this year. Very effective for fuel and amazing.

We only sailed on one sail, the jib

You have to make sure your sails are always full.
I haven't sailed in probably 5 years but still knew how to control the boat to get the most of the wind. Grandpa was amazed that I was able to steer the boat for most of it, he wouldn't let me come about or jibe though.

Other boats on the water couldn't decide, main sail or jib. Some used both.

Grandpa made sure to show Mike the wreck we found when I was 11.

When we go hiking and I share the pictures, here is one spot we hike.

This is William. He loves riding in the boat, he'll get a nice comfy spot somewhere where he can't be tossed around and just enjoys it. Their other cat Chino doesn't come to the boat every weekend now. I miss her, we used to sit below deck and read and had to change sides of the boat every time we came about.

And always wear sunscreen on your knees when you are sailing.
