Return of wild orchids in my back yard!! With photo

I can't believe our luck in having a little patch of White Moccassin Flower in our back yard (which is mostly woods). The patch had only two flowers the first year I was here, last year there were four flowers and this year I was amazed to discover six! They are an uncommon variant of the pink Lady's Slipper.

they're beautiful. i wanted to start a garden in my backyard this year but with everything else going on i doubt that will happen now. i've dipped rather heavily into the garden fund. maybe next year though.

They are very pretty. Are they a wild flower?
Some of the flowers growing in a garden are technically weeds, but they are so beautiful, we won't rip them out.

Yes, they are wildflowers. They are variants of the pink Lady's Slipper. I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted them the spring after we moved here!
