I am just wondering about re-introducing my rats.

I have a female who had babies on sep 15 and I want to re-introduce her to her friends that she lived with before she had the babies. The last two baby girls will be gone on halloween and I don't want her to be alone too long. She has been playing with her old cage mates regularily in the rat room, so I was wondering is it would be safe to move them back in together without going through all the intro steps.

Okay, Jo.
I was just wondering.
I think we will be fine, today I let the moma into the cage with the others and they didn't mind her there.
She went in their beds, ate food with them and played for a good 20 mins.
I don't think we aare going to have any problems.

Sounds good. What I usually do is have an out time with all of them and have the rat back in when they go back home. Works for me after one of them is in the hospital cage for about a week.

It seems easier with sisters/brothers.
I think that once they have been together for a certain period of time you can separate them for a month or two and they will remeber each other. Especially with supservised play togther.
