One of my rescues seems to drink a lot. He was previously on a diet of mostly cat treats and I believe he may have kidney issues. I have urinalysis strips on the way to test for protein in his urine and plan on bringing him to the vet on Wednesday. I have been reading that a low protein and low phosphorus diet is good for rats with kidney issues.
Does anybody have experience with this?
What are some good low phosphorus foods I can feed him?
