Pumpkin Seeds

Do pumpkin seeds need to be cooked if they're for the rats or is raw fine?

Mine have always been toasted with out salt. Not sure about using them raw. Mine have nibbled on watermelon seeds with no ill effects so I would think they would be fine raw is washed first , but I will let someone else weigh in on this.

I'm not sure either... but I'd probably roast them first.

our kids LOVE pumpkin seeds that are cooked. We give them raw pumpkin too and they love that too.

My crew goes nuts for roasted but, we have never tryed raw.

I checked with Dee of OdysseyDesign and pumpkin seeds need to be roasted and the guts of the pumpkin are fine for our ratties to eat.

I wish I would have known, 4 pumpkins so far here lol But we did keep the seeds, I'll make some today for my guys! They are loven all the new stuff.

The roasted pumpkin seeds went over REALLY well tonight......it was tough not adding any salt tho.

They thought the pumpkin was ok too
