Hi ya all!!! Im very new to the new bub's scene and I was wondering if someone could tell me roughly how long does a momma rat nurse her babies for each time she nurses them? Or is it kind of like just demand feeding? Also I hear people talking about bub cereal?????? Do I need to be worrying about that right now? They are only 4 in a half days old.
:panic: Thanks in advance!!!

Human baby cereal will give nursing mom extra nutrition and protien.
When the babies are older, they will start to eat the baby cereal as well ... this will help their mom wean them.
Baby cereal can be mixed up with soy baby formula, ensure, or water.

You can give it to the mom once or twice a day in a shallow dish, now.
She also should have access to a good quality lab block at all times (harlan, oxbow regal rat, or the Living World/Hagen hamster block), daily vegs such as peas, and extras such as a bit of cooked egg.

Water should not contain chlorine or fluoride.
