So...Tobi's starting to 'hiccup'. (You're right Jorats...when it rains it pours). He has no porphyrin or any other symptoms.He's been doing it for a couple days now. Should I start him on some of Clooney's cipro until I can see the vet?

Either way Monday or Tuesday I need Baytril or more Cipro. Ugh. At least Onyx is right as rain (*knock on wood*)
 
I wouldn't start him on any meds unless you see more symptoms. I don't medicate hiccups personally...some rats are prone to them, some aren't. Moth hiccupped ALL her life and got her first URI at 3 years of age. :cheeky:
 
I agree with lilspaz. Hiccupping is not exactly a symptom, not enough to warrant medicating in my opinion but if it's coupled with say lethargy or laboured breathing than yes.
