My darling little Evie died this evening at a little before 8 pm. She
was fine yesterday. This morning was acting a little bit funny...
nothing big, just not as active as usual and kept eating her lab block
instead of taking the grape I offered her. And she was kind of off by
herself instead of snuggling with the others when the went to sleep
this morning. I work nights, so I went to sleep right after they
settled down, and when I got up she was very still and just laid in my
hand when I picked her up. I could just tell she didn't have long. I
held her till I had to leave for work, then gave her kisses and handed
her to Erin, who held her until she passed. Erin said that a few
seconds before she died she gasped for breath a few times and then
looked like she was having a seizure. Then she was still.

Erin wrapped her in some pink cloth that she liked to snuggle in and
put her in a little purple box. We will bury her in the morning when I
get home.

She was so sweet and so beautiful. I will miss her very much. Goodbye
little Evie. Rest in peace.

I am so sorry Kristy. :( Was she an older girl? They often have small seizures as they pass, they are not painful, its just the electrical impulses going to the muscles...

Run and popcorn at the Bridge little Evie. Your mommy misses you dreadfully so visit her when you can.

I'm so sorry Kristy. It is so painful when they leave us for the Rainbow Bridge. Take comfort in the knowledge that her place there was secured through the love she knows you felt for her.

A wonderful little Rat's life. She is with you in spirit and will see you again someday. :love6:

I'm sorry for your loss
I wish you could have stayed with her instead of having to go to work, it must have been very hard for you to have to leave, but comforting to know she went in loving arms. You know they are better than us at sensing that connection of love anyway so she knows she was with you heart & soul at the end.

She was just a baby girl. I'm not sure how old she was for sure, but we estimated her at about 6-8 weeks from her size. She was all alone in a feeder tank about to be snake food. They didn't even know there was a baby in there. We only had her a few days, but we loved her very much. We kind of figure that it was a destiny thing.... we would usually never get an animal from the place she came from, and we were so broke that we spent $4.32 of our last $6 till payday to get her... another thing we would usually never do. But she died being held and loved, instead of while being eaten by a snake, or alone in a bare aquarium where nobody would have noticed her for god knows how long. We hope we brought some joy to her short life. We know she brought some to ours. I love all my babies... but she was special.... she left little pawprints on my heart.

Oh, that is so sad, I am so sorry she left you so soon... but you did the best for her with the time she had.
