Minnie is leaving me...

Minnie recently began to develop symptoms of CHF. I tried lasix with very little sucess. She now looks like a skeleton and refused to eat baby cereal and ensure last night, so I know she is not feeling well at all.

She is not even a year old yet. If she is not interested in food tonight, I think I may have to have her PTS tomorrow... :sad3:

Have you tried the other heart meds with her as well as the lasix?

a beta blocker such as atenolol (1mg/454.4g);
and an ACE inhibitor such as enalapril (0.25mg/454.4g twice a day) or benazepril (0.25mg/454.4g twice a day) or lisinopril (0.125 to 2 mg/454.4g twice a day)

If her heart is enlarged then digoxin (0.0025mg/454.4g twice a day) too

A bronchodialator may also help with breathing.

Was she initially treated with any antibiotics in case it is/was a respir infection?


CHF is so very difficult and there comes a point that all we can do for them is to have them humanely pts. (Post on humanely pts ratties: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9582&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=0 )
