I think both drawn-out and sudden are awful, but in different ways.

I'm glad I stayed up though - we had many precious hours just sitting together. When Chance had his stroke he lived for about a month afterwards, and we had a whole month of hours of precious cuddling and feeding. It's when it all stops that it hurts so much.

My love to you and Mama Leila - I'm sure Cera is waiting at the Bridge for her (and for everyone, really - she never met a person or animal she didn't love immediately).

Her eyes are half closed now and they haven't dried out.
