humidifiers?

Just wondering what everyone puts in their humidifiers to keep the mold away? hard water scales? and any other crap we don't want in them, or in the air....

so I did a little investigating and all I could find was to clean it with vinegar?
So i'll try that I suppose, i'm sure they make an anti-bac solution for humidifiers, but i'm not too sure about that going into the air wiuth the rats?
any ideas if that's alright?

Vinegar should be a natural, safe solution to the problem. Sorry Lynds - I don't have any other advice to offer.

I use vinegar cage cleaning all the time, I can't imagine it being a problem cleaning your humidifier.

Canadian Tire has a new "environmentally friendly" product that is supposed to be just as good as CLR for cleaning hard water stains and scale. I forget the name, but it's in the same section as CLR. And it's not tested on animals! :joy:

*thinks* I know Holmes makes some stuff you put in the water, not sure what it does or if that's even what you're looking for.

I just run vinegar through mine when it gets ecky. Outside. I hate the smell of it, too.

Does Seventh Generation make a lime scale cleaner? http://www.seventhgeneration.com/Bathroom-Cleaner Maybe this...? Not sure.
