Hi,
I just bought 2 baby rats (about 2 months old according to petco) and I am trying to find them a large cage within my price range.
I found a cage that, according to the rat cage calculators, will work for 2 full grown rats. The issue is that it appears that the spacing between the bars is about an inch which I am guessing is too large for my baby girls. While trying to figure out what to do, I found a website that recommended covering a cage with hardware cloth to make the space small enough to prevent escapes.
Is this a good and SAFE idea? Would this mesh work? http://www.amazon.com/WIRE-24X10-HARDWA ... 150&sr=1-3
If so, how do it attach it to the cage? I have never worked with hardware mesh.
Thanks,
Laura
