They will be spending the night in the playpen tonight. For one i am to lazy to put them back and two they really enjoy it. I will be snoozing on the couch with them if i can sleep through the wheel going all night.

Little hippo on the bright side she appears to be the least affected by the back leg thing. I decided they are now deemed either the weeble babies or the roly poly babies since they are just that, Special just dont fit they dont seem to mind being different

I am impressed he can get in the bowl like he can. I need a smaller bowl and to figure out how they can use a water bottle from the bottom level..

I am going tomorrow to this big discount place to look for cages for the boys. I have to split them up on thursday. So 4 of graces babies will be moved out and into a cage of their own. Such a sad day that will be. Poor babies can be momma any longer.

Wow, I have just gone through the entire thread and I have to say I have never experienced so many different emotions in such a short period of time. I started off angry as usual, still wondering how people can continue to let these little guys reproduce so freely. The anger blew over and I felt relieved these momma's were now in a safe place and would never litter again. As the litters arrived I felt sad, frustrated and overwhelmed for Hopefloats as she coped with the ups and downs that happened with every new day. I was happy to see the baby pictures and could feel the love I had for such innocent living creatures but then became depressed as the problems were so clearly appearing. I'm ecstatic the "special" babies will have a loving home till the end, but am worried about the events that are meant to occur within their little lives. Hopefloats, my ending emotion is "grateful" and that is for what you have done, what you are doing and simply the person that you are.
Good luck little ratties, you all deserve the best of life, as it is not your fault, a human made you this way.

Watching these guys grow has been amazing and i cannot wait to see them in their new homes.

The rolly polly gain seem to be doing ok despite the motor issues? Almost looks like they have hip displatshia, poor little guys, but it doesn't seem to bother them at all!

I was watching the videos and it struck me that the boys especially moved like they have an issue with their FRONT end. I dunno, it looked like they were almost pushing themselves along, 'snowplowing' as my ferrets used to do. How do their shoulders feel, and their strength? Can they climb the side of the enclosure like the rest of the kids? Do they have normal flexibility in their spine?

the older ones climb the bars like it is nothing. When they stand they are curved looking. Kait asked me if they could get scoliosis of the spine. I dont think it is in their front end at all, that is the part that always appeared normal, their back end kinda drifts off to the side. I have felt their hips, bones in their legs and they feel normal. I have fel their spines but they are so tiny it is hard to tell if something is off or not. All of them walk with their back legs the same. they go together not individual steps like most babies do. The pew in one videos has an itch and both legs went to town and they never touched his body once.

I am torn between something in their brain making them off or something with their spine. since it only affect the back end but the brain thing seems likely sense they seem off balance. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I stare at them and feel them up just looking for an answer. Some move worse than others, they lean more, some seem to have very little leaning problems but all of them eat laying down. so they have the balance issue to some degree. It is nuts. I wish wee boy would of lived a bit longer I couldnt do a necropsy now with the cage cost and everything that hit over the last week.

it is also frightening because I have no idea what will happen over the next few weeks, months or even days for that matter. It is very scary to think about it sometimes but for now they appear fine, healthy poos so I wont spend to much time on that, I cant really rats are keeping me damn busy now a days LOL

Two of my boys went home yesterday. 578 miles to Ohio the woman drove all the way here and back for them
