A Playpen Idea

I was at Pet Valu today picking up a new water bottle and checking out carriers. I noticed the cat climbing/scratching posts and thought the boys would enjoy climbing on some of them. I was wondering if they would be safe for them? If so, has anyone used them for their ratties before?

I've seen on other forums people using cat climbing toys for rats and they've been great!
