My boys have been together some time now. One is around 6 months, quite laid back. The other a little skittish. He is around 4 months old but he is trying to hump my other older rat. I'm assuming it's hormones. Behaviorally no problems towards me. Rats seem to get along. Sometimes the chase and flip each other over. Nothing aggressive. Just wondered mr humpy will settle down trying to hump.

Exact same thing going on in my "household" right now. They met a girl rat for the first time yesterday & when the jumpier-one couldn't contain his excitement anymore, he hopped on his brother missionary style & completed his first (known) ejaculation. I have now watched hours of the most hysterical interactions between these two in the presence of a female. Their codependency is like nothing I ever would have expected. It's sad I suppose but these last days have been chalkful of entertainment

They have been together for about a month now. The behavior is just recent. Yet hilarious. My poor older rat isnt impressed. The younger rat doesnt like being held. Yet he has never bitten me. Once or twice he got out the cage when i was picking up his brother. And it took ages to catch him. I have been doing immersive training with my young rat in the hallway he will run all over me, but wont let really stroke him. He also hides in my hoodie while wearing it. My older rat is more layed back. Hoping the other younger rat calms down. He poops himself when he gets excited.
