I am very sorry about D.J. :(

I read through his story and it was great to learn about how far he had come. Rest easy sweet boy. :flowers:

most of the pictures have turned to a blurs. They dart and run and popcorn. Fun times now :)

she tries but she is such a good momma. She really never tried to nip us. She popcorns around with them and she is very confident with me messing with her wee ones. These babies are going to be great ones super social.

I am thinking about putting the shelf in because they climb up so high I am afraid of them getting hurt from a large fall. I think friday I should be able to put the wheel in for them. They are growing so fast. 2 weeks and a few days and they will be split up... :(

Aww, they only have 2 more weeks until they have to be separated. :( Yeah, I guess that's life, eh?

They are such cutie patooties! The photo of the lil' hooded baby trying out the water bottle is just precious!

Aww so much adorable all at once! They seem to be thriving (not that I'm surprised). I wonder if some large standard hammocks would help cushion them if they were to fall?

I do not worry about babies falling - they are quite agile and can hang on the the side of the cage very easily. My worry is the old, usually fat rat. They don't have the muscular strength to hold up their weight any more.
Babies are commonly known as little monkeys in my house!

Yesterday I had Ruby spayed as the lucky girl for Patches the boy who is mean to other boys. She had one ovary. My vet said they see that a lot in cats but he looked for a sign of the ovary all around her and couldnt find it at all. His concern is when they take the dominate one out, then the other one if there is a nub can start to grow. So if she appears to be in heat later on, then we know she has a rogue ovary that will have to be removed :) Only in this house I swear.

She is such a pretty girl.

I had to take katara back in, this is her last surgery. Her tumor came back the same horrible shape it was the last time and was growing fast, I had hoped that getting her in for removal fast would make her odds better but this time, it was growing in her ribs.

She had some blood seeping which isnt uncommon. But when i picked her up, it poured out of her. She was cold and I was hitting every panic button I could. Of course the office was closing so I could only talk to them about it. I slept in the chair with her carrier next to me so I could keep an eye on her. I fed her and woke up a dozen times to make sure she was ok. This morning she was stronger and this afternoon I could tell she was just not happy in her cage. I put her with siblings and it was an instant fix. She was back to normal.

One of our vets there spoke at her kids school. The kids asked what they could do to help and she suggest they make get well cards for the animals. SHe told them that they see dogs, cats, rats, rabbits and well a huge list i am sure. So we were lucky enough to get one of the cards :)

how adorable is that!

the babies had their first real plate of pasta, tomatoes and other veggies, it was a hit and they made a mess. They are doing well and I plan on taking them to an adoption even with me on Saturday.

Cooper seems to have PT

that is his story. he turned 2 in June and he has been finally living with girls for a few months. Luckily he had those months with friends. For now I have him in a cage alone so I can figure out what is wrong.

I think that is all we have for now. I need sleep.

That card is cute!

Poor Cooper, why don't you leave him with his friends? I have always left my PT rats in the regular cage.
Have you made a video of him?

Rest well Hopefloats. You deserve it! That card is so cute! I hope everyone fell(s) bedr too!
Glad to hear that Katara is starting to do better now that she's with her friends.

Sorry to hear about Cooper.

Good luck with the adoption event. With babies as cute as those it should be a success!

Oh my gosh, those cards were sooo cute! I bet that meant a lot to you. :) I would show the cards to your bubs too, of course!
