I work in a pet store... So thats the only store I ever would bring my rats into... But I never take them out side of the house unless I absolutely have to. Like going to the vet. My mom has a compromised immune system so I wouldnt want to put her or others at risk just because I wanted to take...

I feel bad because I have to take my boys to my work(pet store and nursery) and have my work babysit them for a few days. We have to have work done on our place and cant have them at home when its getting done. I feel so bad

My boys love cucumber! I slice a medallion about 1/8-1/4 inch thick and cut it in half. And each boy gets a half. They devour it in about a minute. And plain Cheerios...

I dont think its ok to do at home surgeries either. I shouldnt have said what someone does at home is their business in the aspect of surgeries of any type. Leave anything medical to the professionals. Too many risks otherwise.

Well doing stuff in your own rats is one thing. Its another to do those invasive procedures on other peoples rats. And doing it for a profit. But what someone does on their own rat is their own business.

Not that I'm aware. My vet doesn't seem worried. But if it worries you take them to see the vet. $60-$80 is worth the peace of mind that they're ok

I believe karma will get her in the next life. What she did was wrong. Rats are so similar to humans, why do you think scientists do testing on rats? I will always take my boys to a legitimate vet. Just because you know how, doesnt mean you should. (I know this thread was from 2016 lol)

One of my boys(Floki) does a weird sort of grunting sound when he get to have play time out of his cage or if he is excited in any way. So I wouldn't be surprised if Pork chop was trying to "talk" to you asking where his brothers were.

He is... I'm thinking its allergies because 2 days can go by and he wont breathe like that. And he doesnt seem lethargic in any way... He did do something last night that caught me off guard but I wouldnt think it was serious... Just really weird/unusual.

It all sounds nasal, from what I hear when he puts his chest to my ear, his lungs sound very clear. And he has clear snot. And he's more active than his brother and always eating lol. I will call my vet to schedule an appointment.
