I am a real wimp when it comes to pain, and I didn't think it was really that bad. The Magic tattoo took about an hour straight, if I remember correctly, and my first tattoo of Eeyore was an hour and a half with a break half way through.
It starts off stinging, but I found it gets better as it goes on. If I put one of my migraine headaches at a 10 for comparison, I would give a tattoo about a 4. If I put tooth pain at a 10 for comparison, then I would give a tattoo about a 2. I have not experienced anything more painful than exposed nerve tooth pain.
And yes, there are parts of your body that hurt more than others, so you have to factor that in too. I was told that where I have my Eeyore is a very sensitive part of the body and that it would hurt more than others.
