Mission Control -- All is ratness
After a short battle with congestive heart failure, Arthur has been gently escorted over the Rainbow Bridge. He had just turned two.
He was such a sweet boy. He's the first rat we've known who was possessive of me. He grudgingly put up with me also loving James Bean (all the rats, all the love) but was definitely my most recent heart rat. From Arthur, we've learned that, while some rats love learning tricks, they won't share those with just anyone. Arthur would only "dance" for me. My husband tried getting him to do the trick; Arthur looked back over at me as if to say, "You're seeing this, right? You see what he's asking me to do? NO. Only for you." He flatly refused, then came over to me, and danced for me.
He is survived by his buddy, James Bean, though likely not for long. James Bean is getting lumpy, so he's got an appointment next week to see if they're fatty deposits or something more concerning. He's two as well, so surgery would potentially be a risky prospect.
Rats are such wonderful little souls. They shine so brightly while they're with us, but they burn out far too fast.
