I work in a pet supply store, we carry frozen feeders but there's two guys I think that order live mice. Last Friday they sent two baby rats, I guess they were out of adult mice. They were bought but yesterday at work I saw one was back with a note saying to send back to the supplier. The guy was going to let her go outside because they were too big for his snake (I guess her sister was killed but not eaten :(). My coworker told him to bring the rat back. We felt bad sending her back to that place, and sitting in a box terrified until Friday, their delivery day, so I took her in hopes I could find someone who would give her a home (I have boys and not looking to keep females).

I would say she looks no more than 5 weeks. I haven't handled her because she's scared of me (won't even take food, by hand or spoon), so I figured I'd give her some time and not grab at her. She's not too scared to explore her cage or run in the wheel though. Any tips to socialize her? I know of the forced socialization of putting them down your shirt but I don't know if I should do that yet if she won't come to me.

She seems more afraid of me than the cat lol. I think she's coming around a little bit though. I could meet somewhere accessible, I don't drive.

She looks too young to be away from her mama, poor thing. Shes about the age of the babies I'll be getting. Pm me and we could figure out a time and place to meet

I think the above poster changed their mind, I haven't gotten a response after saying she gets a bit sneezy when she's worked up when I try to handle her. If anyone else can help let me know. I can donate left over zithro in case it's a uri, and I have a tube of kitten revolution (might be helpful to you rescuers). Thanks.

I can take her in if need be. :D Are you still in Toronto?

Sorry I didn't get your last reply, this has happened before with a different member, I don't know whats wrong with my messaging. I can still take her but if lilspaz has the room she would be a better home. Let me know whats going on through here though, I don't want my messages screwing up again
