That's a good idea, SQ and I think it is generally what's recommended when you have rats. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it quite applies because I live in condos and all my neighbors are so close I don't think we could be successful in making sure no one is leaving out food. We're pretty careful and I don't think they're getting anything from us (besides maybe some water?) but I'm worried if I try to communicate the game plan to my neighbors all I'll get is some thing along the lines of, "We have rats?! I'll get poison right now!"
