I recently discovered that one of my boys has a pituitary tumor, and the symptoms are progressing. As of now, he won't drink on his own and has a very hard time eating without assistance (I've been hand-feeding him in order to make sure he's fed and hydrated). He also seems to be secreting porphyrin from his nose quite a bit, and needs me to help clean him up every day since he can't groom himself properly. He also seems to have some difficulty moving around.

I guess my question is... How do you know when it's time to put them to sleep? Everyone seems to tell me "You'll just know", but while I want to keep him alive for as long as possible, I also don't want to wait too long... I've seen the symptoms, they don't look pleasant.
