One of my rats has a little cut at the base of his tail that looks red enough that you can notice it from a distance, but not like bleeding. Is there anything I should put on it or do to make sure it doesn't get worse or get infected? I've delt with scratches before cause one of mine is hairless but those tend to be on his sides and heal very quickly with nothing on them, but is it different at all if its on his tail? It's also a pretty wide scratch, a little different than like the thin scratches from a long nail that my hairless boy gets.

Is there a chance you can provide a picture.? It would help others aid you with this if we could see it

Here are the best photos I could get cause he was pretty tired and just wanted me to let him sleep in peace, he was sleeping curled up in a ball with his tail almost under him so it doesn't seem like moving it around bothers him too much
