when I surface clean the cage, sometimes there is a redish orange tinge that shows up on the wipe. I was wondering what this was because everytime I try to search it it only comes up with sites about porphyrin around the rats eyes, but that's not it. All help and responses are appreciated.

porphryin is a natural discharge for rats and only when its excessive is when you worry. When they sneeze you often see a light spray on the plastic base so seeing a little orange on the wipes would be okay.
