Please help! My girl has red stains ( I don't think blood) around her paws, her bottom back has wet spots like she's been cleaning a lot, her area looks like it has yellow urine stains around it. She seems extra thirsty but beyond that there is no fatigue or loss of appetite. I have looked and looked for an explanation but can't find anything. I have been told by the breeder to give her fish Mox. I bought some 250mg tablets. How much do I give her?! Please help!

How old is your girl? How much does she weigh?
The Red on her paws looks like porphyrin, a natural red discharge but too much could mean there's a problem. They often get it on the inside of their front legs as they groom over their nose and eyes.

I got her in May as a baby. My guess would be 4 to 6 mo? Honestly weight wise I have no idea but she is the same as my other who is her sister from same litter.

personally, I would suggest she see a good vet with the knowledge and experience to treat rats.
She may need to be put on baytril or baytril + doxy
btw, when antibiotics help, rats need to stay on them for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
If antibiotics do not start to help within a few days then you need to contact the vet because another med may need to be added or the meds may need to be changed

I hope she is soon feeling better
