Rats living in separate room from cats?

Hi! I might be getting rats in the future but I currently have 2 cats. They are both friendly. Anyways, we have a spare room where I think I will be keeping my rats and I was wondering if the door was left closed so that cats couldn’t get in if that would be okay?? Any advice on how to keep the cats away and my rats safe? Thank you.

Yeah that's good. I think just keeping the door closed so that the cats can't enter should be good
