My rat, Boris, just had a seizure. He was foaming at the mouth and batting his hands at nothing. My mom and I put him in a box and turned the lights off for him to calm down and he got scared whenever we touched him. He's fine in his cage now his Moe (My other rat) But we're not sure what to do now. He had one three weeks ago, I didn't see it happen but I saw that he jumped whenever I touched him. Should we take him to the hospital or see if it happens again? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

It's really scary when that happens and it's really not that common. I would wait to see if he gets it more often and if he does, then your vet can give him a medication for it.

some people find that CBD oil helps their rats ..... just as CBD oil is being used to prevent seizures in children and adults

more conventional meds are also used with rats who have seizures .... Lilspaz68 on here has a lot of experience with this

    here is some info http://ratguide.com/health/neurological/seizures.php
